Let the spin begin! Twenty-four hours have not passed since President Obama signed the stimulus bill in Denver and the first immigration alarm goes off.
“The U.S., including Colorado, will see a tsunami of illegal immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala and other countries as they go for this federal pot of gold,” Schultheis said.
Thankfully the State Legislature is taking the steps to make Colorado a welcoming place for all immigrants of all races, creed, and gender.
Sen. Schultheis is welcome to his opinions as we exit the era fear and march into the age of hope.
Factoid: some of the estimates Colorado can expect from the stimulus bill:
- 48.3 million for renewable energy
- 538 million for highways, bridges, and infrastructure
- 415 million for school districts
Anti-Immigrant Bills killed in the legislature:
P Senate Bill 146, the Vehicle Impound Bill
P Senate Bill 23, e-verify for non-governmental employees
Action: Colorado Springs Residents give State Senator Schultheis call and share with him your thoughts regarding his statement!
